Wise enough to know, that I do not know,
The mysteries, reasons, answers, solutions.
I know I am a vessel, only.
But, in the being of that one thing,
I receive warmth of sun and the prisms of rain,
I hear melodies of sea and wind and laughter of children,
I receive warmth of sun and the prisms of rain,
I hear melodies of sea and wind and laughter of children,
I take in the miracles all around,
I feel and learn from it all,
The love, the pain, the wonderment.
I open myself,
Perceiving, believing in this pure idea,
Dreamed from some divine inspiration,
This totality,
This that is,
Perhaps, more than enough knowledge
To fill one vessel,
For a lifetime.

If my wife turns around and sees the tears running down my cheeks, she won’t believe my explanation. I have been reading my hero JFK lately, and your poem expands on a paraphrase of a line from one of his speeches that I have for my desktop background: “The greater our knowledge increases, the greater our ignorance unfolds. Thankyou.
Hello Bill, and my thanks goes out to you for your kind read and your wonderful, sharing, moving words. JFK was also my hero and your words made me tearful too! I’m so honored that my poem reminded you of him. Blessings.
