Call of the Crow
With fall hunting season in full swing, here’s a cautionary tale. This story was recently selected by HarmoNNY Performing Arts Community for their fall 2023 dramatic live reading event held at the Sackets Harbor Ballroom.
Good luck hunting. Be safe out there.

Editor’s note: Due to an issue with the Adirondack Almanack email, we’re running this post again. We apologize for the error.
Just returned to ADKs. Not since The 21 Mine have I seen better local writing
Thank you very much. Welcome home.
A snowy late November afternoon greeting to all the readers here at the Adirondack Almanack. I just wanted to take a moment for a public shout out & thank you to Almanack editor Melissa Hart. She always goes out of her way to hike those extra miles. There had been some sort of technical problem with my recent submissions that caused them to appear on the daily email edition sans header photo, causing a steep decline in readers who clicked on those stories. Not only did Melissa work to resolve the issue but has been re-running the stories that fell victim to the mysteries of technology. I never asked, (nor had any expectation whatsoever), that once the issue was resolved, she would re-run the affected stories, but I greatly appreciate it. I don’t know how much the Adirondack Explorer is paying her, but it’s not enough. She deserves a pay raise.
I’d like to just add a thank you to Melissa Hart. She makes contributing articles to the Almanac a breeze. She also makes you feel welcome to be part of the Adirondack community.
I agree that Melissa is wonderful to work with!
Aww shucks….This site would be nothing without all of you!!!
Captivating reading, again, from someone who knows. Thank you, Richard.
