Sitting on the dock, we sip our drinks while reading. The sun is bright and almost hot, but our sunscreen protects us. There are a few deerflies, but they will be dispatched if they do not subscribe to the peaceful vibe.
Puffy white clouds float in a bright blue sky over brilliantly green pines across the water, which reflects the colors above.
I retrieved the camera in case the pair of loons diving in the bay to the east decided to come our way. But perhaps the camera is a loon-repellent.
But no matter. The slight breeze provides just enough cooling. The only noise is the occasional flapping of the flag in the wind.
Some might say this is as good as it gets, and they would not be wrong.
